  • 1 lb Chicken cut into desired sizes
  • 1 tbsp Fish sauce
  • 3/4 cup Glutinous rice
  • 1/2 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 5 cups Water
  • 1 pc Onion diced
  • 4 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1/4 tsp Saffron


  • In a casserole, heat cooking oil then sauté garlic and onions until brown. Then add the ginger and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  • Put-in chicken and stir well. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Then season with black pepper and fish sauce, then 2 cups of water. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes over low medium heat.
  • Remove the chicken from the casserole then set aside.
  • In the same casserole, add 3 more cups of water and glutinous rice then boil for 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
    Note: Stir the rice occasionally to avoid sticking on the casserole.
  • Then put-in chicken and stir well. Cook for another 5 minutes, then add the saffron or casubha.
  • Transfer in a small serving bowl. Eat while hot!
