Best Albondigas (Ground Pork) Recipe

A popular dish in Spain that is usually served at Tapas bars. It makes use of ground pork and misua.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Pork
  • ½ teaspoon Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 pc Fresh egg
  • 2 pcs Onions medium size, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking Oil
  • ½ cup Misua
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Flour
  • 2 pcs Long Baguio Leek cut into ½-inch
  • 5 cups Water

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine ground pork and half of the chopped onions.
  • Sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon black pepper and ¼ teaspoon salt then add the egg. Stir well.
  • Add the flour on the mixture. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pot. Sauté garlic and onions until brown, then add 5 cups water.
  • Add another ¼ teaspoon black pepper and ¼ teaspoon salt. Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Get the ground pork mixture, scoop a small amount, and mold into a small ball.
  • After molding, put the meatballs on the pan of boiling water, then add the misua over low heat. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Then, add the baguio leeks and wait until cook.
  • Serve while hot!
