Superb Pork Nilaga Recipe

Perfect dish for a rainy season and cold weather. Another variation of pork stew complemented with various vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs Pork Ribs or Shoulder cut into cubes
  • 1 liter Water
  • 2 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 pc Onion cubed
  • 2 pcs Banana (Saba) sliced and peeled
  • 7 pcs Green beans (Bitsuelas) sliced
  • 1 pc Cabbage whole, sliced
  • 1 bunch Pechay

Instructions

  • Heat a pan, then put the pork ribs or shoulder, pour water into the pan. Cover and bring to boil.
  • While boiling, skim all the scum of the pork.
  • Add the salt, ground black pepper, and onion. Cover and cook for 45 to 60 minutes or until the pork is tender.
  • Then, put the banana and cook for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the green beans, cook for another 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the cabbage and pechay. Cook for another 3-5 minutes.
  • Ladle soup and meat in a bowl. Serve with fish sauce and steamed rice and enjoy!
